The CPCI-816 is a Intelligent Four Port E1 Interface board that is applied in advanced telecommunications systems. The CPCI-816's 8260 Communications Processor handles E1 TDM traffic processing so that the system host processor can focus on application level processing.

The CPCI-816 is actively deployed in Cyclone's 2400 Series of Front End Processors, a system level platform that is heavily used in SS-7 and AIN telecommunications applications.
